Of All The Social Platforms, Why LinkedIn?

LinkedIn is where the business is.

Literally.

It’s why most high schools and colleges encourage students to create a profile as soon as possible. LinkedIn is a professional social networking site that operates in a ‘workplace’ culture fashion — users aim to look smart and connect with others on a coworker level. Whether it’s partnering up for a project, hiring, or simply job hunting, LinkedIn is the go-to platform for professional connections.”

Some key benefits include:

  • High organic reach
  • Six-figure customers
  • The best place to sell
  • Everyone’s there for business

Now…

Knowing that, why do you think I became so attracted to LinkedIn?

Take a wild guess.

(*Pauses and waits for you to guess wildly*)

Because I wanted to establish myself as a writing entrepreneur and become a thought leader!

You see, what’s interesting about LinkedIn’s business model is that it charges users to access the full features of the site — more than 50% of users pay for a subscription. And in doing so, LinkedIn remains less reliant on ads, which allows for a less cluttered timeline.

This business model enables LinkedIn to focus on prioritizing high-quality content, making room for valuable insights, career development, and networking opportunities.

Sounds good, right?

Of course, it does.

But the real challenge comes into play when you’re trying to move your connections from LinkedIn to your email list.

Personally, I love offering a free educational email course to make that transition easier.

Other tips that have helped me include:

  • Being one of the first to comment on any piece of content
  • Keeping posts clear, concise, and under 3,000 characters
  • Offering an educational email course (I can help you create this) or placing a landing page in the ‘Featured’ section to collect emails
  • Placing a clickable link in your bio

After mastering these basics, I was able to launch my first fitness and personal finance eBook to a network full of people who resonated with my ideas and were willing to invest in it.

Not long after that, I launched my second book, which is tailored to a more niche audience.

So, LinkedIn has been good to me.

And I hope this article has shown you the value of leveraging this hidden gem.

If you’re not yet utilizing LinkedIn to its full potential, now’s the time to start!

Stay tuned for more insights.
